Built for professional development
Peeknext is designed around the editing experience itself, with an emphasis on responsiveness, predictable behavior, and efficient workflows.
Native performance
Peeknext uses a native editing engine optimized for low typing latency and large files. The editor has been tested with source files containing tens of millions of lines, retaining syntax highlighting and core editing functionality.
Performance is documented through repeatable benchmarks against other popular macOS editors.
Offline by default
Peeknext works without an internet connection. There are no required accounts, cloud services, or background telemetry. Files and editor configuration remain on the user's computer.
Optional AI features connect to local models through Ollama, allowing developers to use code completion and inline assistance without sending source code to external AI services.

Customizable workflows
Peeknext provides plain-text configuration, customizable keybindings, and Python scripting. Editor commands can be called directly, assigned to shortcuts, or combined into custom workflows.
Developers can configure their environment without relying on external plugins or cloud-based configuration services.
Simple deployment
Peeknext is distributed as a standalone macOS application. No user registration, account provisioning, or online activation is required.
Offline licensing
Paid licenses are provided as locally verifiable license files. License verification does not require communication with a licensing server, allowing Peeknext to operate in offline or restricted development environments.
Shared licenses
Teams and Business licenses support shared license locations, allowing organizations to deploy the same license file across multiple installations. A single license file can be used by all authorized users, subject to the purchased user limit.
This avoids managing separate license files for every developer.
